Since Halloween is upon us it wouldn’t be cool to skip out on mentioning the new Halloween (movie) comic series The First Death of Laurie Strode. There have been a few Halloween movie comics and surely there will be many more. They were not exactly inspired stories but this new mini-series is a little bit different. It features a look at the life of Laurie Strode in the weeks after Halloween II. 

For long time fans of the series, the sequels are not enough. There is a desire to learn more about the characters and to fill in the missing blanks about events in the characters lives. Sometimes, these stories are well written and other times they are poorly composed. This particular mini-series tries to be a little different although the excess violence undermines it in spots. Then again, without the violence, the book probably would not sell.
