It has been 27 years since Jason Vorhees donned a pillow sack over his head ala the one he wore in Friday the 13^th Part Two. In fact, most fans of the Friday the 13^th films do not even remember that Jason’s first horror film foray did not feature him wearing the hockey mask. In the new Friday the 13^th remake, Jason will be wearing the pillow sack once again as a precursor to his acquiring the hockey mask. Here is a cool picture from the upcoming film. This looks like it may be one of the better films in the series since the Fourth installment.

Since Wildstorm is currently publishing a series of over the top Friday the 13^th comic books, perhaps they may explore the Pillow Sack era of everyone’s favorite (?) one screen lunatic. If you are reading this as Wildstorm, that is a suggestion. Don’t waste any valuable publishing space on derivative stories. Explore the background of the characters in a way the films cannot. That is what will make the books far more enjoyable to read….

SIDE NOTE: Friday the 13^th Part III takes place the day after Part II yet Jason goes from being long haired, six feet tall, and 175lbs to completely bald, six foot five, and 250lbs. Ah well…..
