Turning the Way Back Machine to Fantastic Four Number One

You can consider this the cover that started it all. Way back in 1961, the comic book world would change forever thanks to Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s seminal work on The Fantastic Four. What I liked most about the cover to Fantastic Four issue one was the creepiness of the villain. The weird monster that adorns the cover is so truly over the top that only the “World’s Greatest Superhero Team” could ever combat it. Then, of course, there is the team itself: Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Girl, the (New) Human Torch, and the ever loving blue eyed thing. Yes, this truly was a special team that was like nothing else the comic book world had ever seen before. That is what makes this cover so memorable. It truly displayed the fact that the team was something special and not a run of the mill collection of do gooders. So, here it is, the classic cover to Fantastic Four Issue One.
