Mego Spiderman

Ah, the glory days of the 1970’s. Those were great times to be a kid thanks to all those awesome toys hawked on Saturday morning television. To list all the great toys of the era would take a book and there are quite a few out there on the subject! Each and every toy company had its own special slant. Mego was known for its cool action figures of pop culture figures. Actually, they still called them dolls in those days. But, whatever you called them they were pretty darn fun to collect and play with.

Mego had a number of awesome superhero dolls. While there were many factors that led to the slow demise of GI Joe dolls, I am sure Mego toys have a lot to do with it as well. Here is probably Mego’s top seller….Spiderman. The reproduction of the character is meticulous and the joint mobility is flawless. Of course, the fabric costume is much better than the lame painted on plastic that debuted in the 1980’s.

So, here he is, Mego Spiderman in all his glory…..
