MAJOR SPOILERS SO SKIP THIS IF YOU HAVEN’T PICKED UP FINAL CRISIS NUMBER SIX

Those that have read the sixth installment of the incredibly well-written limited series are probably wondering if Batman is truly dead. Was it the real Batman that died at the end of the story? Was it an imposter? If the real Batman died can he be brought back to life?

Of course, the real Batman will return eventually. The character has been around for 69 years. He’ll be around for another seven decades. How he will come back and how long he will be gone will be the mystery we will follow. In the past, landmark deaths of the Green Goblin, Elektra, and Jason Todd destroyed the impact of characters dying (Superman doesn’t count as we always knew he was coming back) However, it is not impossible to make the “death” of a character interesting provided the consequences are dramatic and far reaching. Or, if the storylines followed are engaging and interesting.  Dick Grayson becoming the new Batman would have a number of tremendous possibilities. Jason Todd becoming Batman, well, that would DEFINITELY be something.

And, on a side note, will we still get Bruce Wayne in limited series that feature the early days of Batman or will they completely pull the character out of the DC Universe for the foreseeable future?
