Now how could I possible look at a few classic animated theme songs without mentioning the classic theme to the legendary 1967 Spiderman series? Part of the reason is that I did not know where to start. There is SO much I could write about when it comes to this series. I fist discovered it in 1978 on local UHF television. Specifically, it was Channel 17 in Philadelphia which was the greatest UHF channel in existence. Dubbed "The Great Entertainer" it was a UHF channel that was a heaven on earth for those that loved pop culture. Sure, Channel 17 still exist today but it is not the same Channel that existed 30 years ago....But, I am getting off subject. Oh, I could write about the weird Ralph Bakshi produced episodes but that is another story for another day. No, I think I will just mention that this was the PERFECT theme song. Really, nothing else even comes close as it had the greatest lyrics and really exciting visual images to accompany it. When a litle kid heard the words to this theme song, they would immediately run to the tub and sit enthralled watching Spiderman embark on his new adventure battling the likes of his many classic villains. Here it is...the greatest theme open to a kid's program...EVER..... In color..... ===============================================================================
