Grand Guignol
Much has been written about the Grand Guignol and my knowledge of the subject is fairly limited so I will not invest much time meandering about my limited understanding. I was skimming the internet on the subject of the Grand Guignol and was extremely shocked to find a complete English translation of a horror play that was performed at the Grand Guignol in 1910.
The play is called “At the Telephone” and it is written by André de Lorde. To my knowledge, it is one of the few original plays from the turn of the century that was translated in English and probably the only one that was put up on the internet. Is the play any good? I don’t know! I haven’t read it yet.
Since it is such a rare play I figured I would share it with you. I will read it later this week. If you read it before me, don’t give away the ending for me…..
