So what is it that has made the ground fertile for the return of horror comics? There are a number of reasons and the main reason has to do with the same reason why horror has always been popular: it provides a anxiety based experience people look for. Ok, now why would anyone want to experience anxiety? Well, no one wants to experience anxiety. However, many of us end up suffering from anxiety whether we want to deal with it or not. Horror films place characters in extremely stressful situations. When we are suffering from stress in our daily lives, horror films provide a decent reprieve from feeling stress because we can watch other people deal with it on screen. Of course, this also translates to the world of horror comics as well.

Currently, we are living in a very anxious world. The financial crisis has many people on edge and it is no suprise that many people wish they had a release from the problems they are facing. Thankfully, horror comics can provide an anxious escape. Particularly when one of your all-time favorite horror comics has returned to print in a limited series.
