I thought I would add this creepy trailer to this blog's Youtube collection. Without a doubt, the most stunning mangas I have ever read was Battle Royale. The first volume in the series truly creeped me out due to the incredibly frightening realism. Yes, the concept of a post apocalyptic, nihilist world is still firmly in the realm of science-fiction. However, the raw cruelty committed by the characters can be glimpsed every day in newspapers and cable news reports of violent crime. Sure, the world of the story that Battle Royale takes place in may be fantastic but the raw horror presented in its pages was all too real.
