"Lost" Spiderman Annual
A lost Spiderman Annual?
There is such a creature. Back in 1982 I remember a hardcover Spiderman book that was titled “Spiderman Annual”. This title was a misnomer. It was not one of the official annuals in the Amazing Spiderman continuity. It was a reprint book that reproduced the classic Spiderman storylines featuring Blackie Drago as the Vulture as he teams with Kraven the Hunter and later when he does battle with the original Vulture.
I remember staring at the book for about a year before someone finally bought it. Nope, it wasn’t a hot book probably because it was priced way out of the price range for most books at the time. And there were VERY few hardcover comic books at the time. Really, I cannot think of too many other examples.
Now, you would think that this book would have become some sort of collectible item. Nope. I have not seen it for sale anywhere. I haven’t even seen it pop up on Ebay. Then again, it probably shows up all the time but I miss it. Anyway, does anyone have any knowledge on the history of this “lost” annual? It seems like a real curio item.
