I am back in my home town after a bit of traveling and, as a result, have been able to get more time to read. This is good timing because a number of excellent books have made their way to the market in the past few weeks. One of the most anticipated is BATMAN: BATTLE FOR THE COWL. As the name implies, this limited series is about the ascension of a new character to wear Batman’s costume in the aftermath of his apparent death.

Of course, there is a lot of mayhem occurring since Batman is presumed dead and the crazies are all on the loose. The classic Batman heroes are present including Nightwing, Robin, and a few others. Can they get a handle on it and who is the mystery man running around alleging to be the new Batman? It’ll take three full issues to find out.

Yes, folks, the storyline does appear to sound a great deal like the old KNIGHTSEND storyline of 15 years ago. However, it is still a well-written issue and those who are fans of Batman will definitely have fun seeing how this whole story arc eventually plays itself out.
