I have to say I have been a fan of the Ultimate X-Men title. Yes, it is a series that has had its ups and downs over the past 8 years. But, its storylines have most been strong. The recent storyline deals with the Ultimatum crossover which deals with the after match of Magneto launching a mutant WMD attack that decimates New York City. The various books in the universe have been covering them in their own unique way. What I enjoyed the most about Ultimate X-Men 100 is the fact that the Xmen, themselves, fade into the background. Now, some may wonder what is the value of that? It allows the opportunity to examine Jamie Madrox, a replicating mutant who has attacked Xavier’s Mansion. Much of the story is written from Madrox’s perspective so we catch a little glimpse into what revolves around in the head of patsy super villain…..and a dangerous one at that. Ultimate X-Men 100 is a tremendous book. It is very offbeat and worth checking out.
