Marvel Noir

Has anyone else been reading the NOIR books in the Marvel line? I have not had the chance to read any of the Spiderman Noir books yet, but I have checked out Wolverine and Daredevil. I have to say, the books contain some of the more engaging and unique writing I have come across.

For those not familiar with what Marvel is trying to do with the Noir books, it is mostly a re-imagining of characters that sets them firmly in the past and within the framework of the classic film noir genre. In most “alternate realities” the end result is a hero that is far less appealing than the one we known and love. With Daredevil, the character barely changes since the grittiness of his book is very much like a film noir. With Wolverine, we get a very different Logan who manages to be quite interesting. Also, the plot lines of both these books are loaded with noir-ish mystery which adds nicely to the proceedings. So, those of you that like something unique and interesting in their comic reading are highly advised to check out the Marvel Noir books. They are really good and worth buying.
