I have to say that was once a huge fan of GURPS Roleplaying games but I have long since stopped playing them. They were something I enjoyed in college but that was quite a while ago. (I wish it were last week but I am getting old but what can I do?) Yesterday, I came across a copy of one of my favorite GURPS books/games…GURPS ILLUMINATI. Without a doubt, this is one of the most entertaining of all the GURPS books to read.

That is what I always loved about the GURPS games. You do not even have to play the games to enjoy the books. They are mostly well written, informative, entertaining, educational, and a lot of fun. That final point is what is missing from a number of role playing game books and that is why I will still dig out a GURPS book now and then and reread it.

What is GURPS ILLUMINATI about? In a single word, it is about conspiracies and how to craft conspiracy related games. Some may be saying that the word conspiracy is a bit general. Well, general is another word that can describe this book because it covers pretty much anything and everything that falls under the category of a conspiracy.

There is a lot of great ideas for games to be found in this book thanks to its expansiveness. Seriously, even if you only have a passing interest in roleplaying games, you will want to purchase a copy of this book.

BTW – 2 other GURPS books I recommend are GURPS HORROR and GURPS ESPIONAGE. That later is better than some textbooks on the subject
